My signature technique is to use an electric blue for the parts that are deepest shadow. The minute I threw that in there the portrait started feeling like vintage Me, as opposed to all the smoothing and blending that I had been doing with recent work. And I'm not against progressing forward in style, but I've always liked the chunky colors I did, it was always something I felt was my own.
