 Okay, I just needed to get something on Instagram, so I threw on a Dunhill bow, which isn't technically a scarf but it works for the visual!

Thicc In Kicks 2

 I am struggling with whether or not to change his face too much. This is a variation, but I often find my first marks preferable to a "finished" piece, something about the spontaneity of the marks.Ah well, adjusting the body a bit too. But not too much, subtle changes are sometimes enough for me.

 I felt like I'd seen more than a couple scarves show in the menswear shows coming out of Paris and Milan, so I decided to do a quick sketch of one.

My friend is a huge fan of designer Veronique Leroy, and he posted a design of a denim jacket with interesting extended shoulders and sleeves by her. We joked about how it could look like a Filipino terno, so I decided to do a quick sketch of it for him, as a terno.

I just like the idea of a rougher, muscular guy standing naked except for his shoes. And he's thiccer than I usually draw!

I cleaned up the scales and their legs and feet, so it's a better proportion overall but still lacking details. Plus I think I want another guy in there...

Did some tweaking to teh base sketch, which is either an improvement or I start feeling off about the sketch. Either way, I hope it spurs me to keep correcting it until I get it perfect—or done. Done is better than perfect.

Meeling In Gray

 My friend Meeling has an avatar, as she likes to call it, that I drew for her a few years ago. She hinted that she'd like it updated, so I added some gray streaks, stud earrings and her Zero by Maria Cornejo dress.

The Z Zegna show in Milan as well as a host of other shows featured voluminous pants, and I studied a few shots to get a feeling for how I might render them in the future, should I have teh opportunity to for a job especially.

I think I made some headway with Nagai's face, so now I think I just need to render his abs and I can be done with this sketch!

Dry Again

I was going through old sketches to see what I needed to perhaps complete, and I rediscovered some old drawings I did with the Deliciously Dry Brush. This is a doodle meant for me to play with this brush again (although it's not going well, lol)(yet).

At least I think he looks hispanic. I never know how my faces will evolve until I actually draw them, so they can change along the way drastically.

I rather like this croquis, although I tend to like my croquis because they're nude, but the proof is when i drape clothing on them.

I didn't hear back from my client about when I might post teh images I did for them to my social media, so I thought maybe I can just draw a new one with the old faces. Here's the start of it. I'm trying to get a more natura, dynamic stance to the stiffer forms I put together originally for the client.

Getting more of a likeness (although it's probably hard to see at this image size, but that's intentional), but as I build value, I wonder if I want to still use the highlighting technique of adding white. I never did love that technique for me... but I feel like my shading here is a bit iffy. Decisions...

Progress on this piece is slow. I'm just not latching on the drawing like I need to, to be inspired enough to complete it. So, little by little...

 The doodle ended up looking like a male version of Degas' ballet girl sculpture, at least to my mind.

Pants Folds 5

The good thing about revisiting old work is that you can see what needs to be changed , if ever. The bad thing is when it has to be changed A LOT. Having been very cognizant of my fashion proportions because of my last few illustration jobs, I had to retool the whole thing.
