This one kind of took on a life of its own, maybe because I wasn't so keen on teh pose, I just leaned into the technique more. But it turned out nicely, I think.

My friend asked me if he could get some more drawings to post on his feed in Instagram, so I pulled out an old interstitial one I had planned on leaving somewhat sketchy on the page, while another one took center stage. Well, I can't leave well enough alone and I started to tinker, and it started getting more, detailed... 

Pistachio 2

I'm trying to get a face that's expressive in the right way, but I wont know what that looks like until I draw it. This is like the 4th or 5th version so,far.

I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a post from dezeen about a room designed with these beautiful pistachio green shades. It inspired me to use the color palette although not sure where this pose came from. It feels very 90s to me, when I did muscle men with slightly more affected poses. But I do like it.

In Repose

This porny angle is all the rage and I like it specifically for the foreshortening of the torso. I'm not sure of this is anatomically correct since I'm creating it from imagination, but I do like the energy of the lines. Hoping I don't draw it all out of it once i start to put in more details, which can happen (and does more often than I like).

Hairy Jockstrap, Done

 I got him ready for posting on instagram, and did two versions—one with the watercolors turned on, the other without. I do like his face without all the color too!

Beloved Pup 6

My client finally got back to me and changed the idea again. It's an easy enough pivot but I do feel a bit like it's starting over conceptually. Now he wants to include parts of him and a different background. We obliged with a sample sketch as proof of concept.

Hairy Jockstrap

I pivoted, and changed the boxers to a more gay jockstrap...and i keeping with my current immersion in kink, decided to do a very gay leather jockstrap. Although it's still very me with all the details and piecing.

Statuesque

I've been thinking I want to do a more classical piece or two with my model Nicholas, and get away from all the kink. I was thinking more statuary, with lots of draping. Although in this idea sketch, I didn't actually drape any of it on him. I suppose I'd wait to see what that looked like on the model. COuld be really fun for shadow play...

Blue Stomp

I don't know if my kink model gets into trampling (is that the term?) but it's certainly a fetish I'm aware of. And it's also an excuse to draw a fantastic heel. Plus I love the idea of the sexuality taking place off screen, where you can imagine all the whos, whats and whys on your own.

I'm drawing for my Instagram feed and have been wondering what I could finish without showing dick. This is what I have to deal with now that I feel that IG has gotten super sensitive about what I post—if not what gay users post in general. Although many other posters I know show full on dick, so I might just have been unfortunate enough to have gotten on their radar. Anyhow, this is the start of the potential sketch.

I'm experimenting with rotoscoping, a technique where you trace over photos to create a low-rez looking animation. I despise the idea of tracing photos, but this technique requires it, plus I took the video myself so it's all mine from the get-go. This is one of my first slides (I erased the others I didn't like).

The Dick

A straight friend had asked me some time ago to draw a pic of his penis from a pic he took. I don't usually do this, but I was curious about his reaction. It's such a personal request and I often wonder what people want out of it. And I also imagine they know that as an artist will draw this, they'll get worked up about the details...or in general. And I was curious how he felt about that.

Anyhow it was a quick one in ballpoint, and i started it in the middle of the Knicks game so there was uproar coming up from outside my window with sexual inner turmoil from within, haha

St.Scho for Angie, Done

I got the commission done, and I added just a few color elements to the skin tone. Hopefully this can translate into a tee shirt print as well as the email graphic she wanted.

Shirty

I wanted to do a quick drawing of a guy lifting up his shirt and revealing his butt, but as I finished the first draft, I realized, I think I drew this already? Albeit with a suit. So I'm wondering if he's worth finishing.

Nicholas at The Center again

My boy Nicholas was scheduled to pose at The Center again and I made sure to show up and support him (as well as draw, since I like drawing him anyhow). But I misplaced my eyeglasses so I had to try and draw ith just my reading glasses. Fortunately my distance vision isn't too bad but I think I was definitely handicapped. The last, 40 min pose was grat though. I got a really nice portrait out of it, which was the 40 minute last pose (which is the opener on this blog post).

Black Party Gal 2026

I did a drawing decades ago entitled Black Party, and it involved a club kid looking model with only certain parts in black. This one is a bit updated, with a hopefully ornate proto geisha flair.

I met with Gris finally the other week and I had a different understanding of his overall look versus the specific view from theh photo my client gave me. His body is a little more correct now.

As I firmed up the drawing, I realized I was drawing teh body incorrectly, as I was drawing the visible parts but not necessarily how the body would actually sit underneath those hidden parts. So I had to retool him and I think now I need to have Nicholas actually sitting for me to get this more accurately.

Meanwhile, another idea I had involved a man getting off on being stomped on by a high heeled boot.
