Summer Bather

I was online in a male nude forum, and I saw a screencap of a guy standing in a pond/river, and I thought it would make a nice drawing idea. So I shut it off and drew one from imagination. I might finish this one up as a new piece.

Also Leaning, Done

I finally published this sketch and decided that I needed to lean into the more stylizesd part. I was holding off thinking I would perfect teh highlighting on his lower back and ass, and as I did in prep for posting, I decided, you know what? I like it more stylized. So that's how I tweaked the details and then published him on IG. Now I just need to hope they don't censor his ass....literally!

New Menswear Pose

I've noticed a rather simple but slightly new pose that many of the menswear models are doing. It's a typical First Position foot placement, but they put both hands on their hips and then sort of hunch over while craning their necks up, almost like a woman's pose of yore. This is me grabbing a wayward sheet of paper on my desk and sketching it while my computer was processing something and not to be bothered, lol.

Suitcock

I had a few more raunchy ideas for drawings, and I wonder if I should just draw them ore ask my model Nicholas to do them? I mean, he's always...er...up... for it.

More Naughty Chairs

I got inspired to keep designing these kink furniture items. I wonder if they would fly?

Naughty Chair

Nicholas asked me to design him a CBT chair a while back, so I thought I'd take a stab at it because i was inspired by the battle ropes at the gym and how the handles are rubber-dipped. I liked the matte texture and thought they'd evoke those bentwood chair legs from the aughts that I loved so much much.

St. Scho for Angie

My friend and erstwhile employer Angelica wanted me to do a fashion sketch for her upcoming high school reunion, featuring updated uniforms for her batch.

Beloved Pup

I got a new commission last week and I'm drawing a friend's beloved dog who is terminally ill. But look at that smile! So cute. I need to make sure I do him justice. This is my first rough.

Story Pose 4

I pulled up an old fashion sketch that looked good, but I can't recall why I reluctantly didn't publish it? I suspect it's because the garment I drew on it was lackluster. As is this new dress I made for the same pose, but I do like her face more.

Updated Walker 4

I didn't like my black model's face from previously, so I wanted to retool her facial structure to look more African, possibly Sudanese? I think I might need to enlarge her eyes more to look more like Adut or someone au courant...

Terrible Fashion Sketch

I tried to draw along with my students on the last day of model drawing for my second section, and I honestly did such a terrible job that I'm ashamed to put it on here. But it's the one with the pink background, if you wanna know. The rest are my students' work from that (last) day.

Half Nude Model 8

I decided to revisit this guy from last October in hopes of doing him as a post for IG, raising up his pants so nothing much shows. But I'm still not keen on that left arm—I haven't been able to draw it from imagination, at least not to my liking. Argh.

IKinka

I was thinking about whether or not the new furniture offerings at Ikea could be usd for kinky adventures, so I sketched some gals on one of their new chairs.

Model Drawing, Bridal Finale (Class 109)

Held my last class for one of my sections in model drawing, and we ended it with floor length gowns and wedding gowns. It was good to give the students that experience, I think. And it felt like a classical throwback to the fasion shows of yore, that always ended with a wedding gown.

Updated Walker 2

I realize I have to fashion up sometimes—I draw with my comic book proportions more of than than not, and I feel I have to make the effort to fashion-ize them some more—narrower torso and limbs, smaller heads...

Updated Walker

I keep thinking I will make a new demo for my one year class, but then I wonder if it's too late. And then as I start one, i get caught up in the drawing and poses and get waylaid instead of doing it in a timely manner. This gal's an example of that scenario, as I don't know if she's good enough to publish yest I mentally argue that we should do what we can do in the time...

Essie & Emma

I have to do two S&M demo girls for my friend's kink furniture site, and I thought of fun, Femlin /40s cartoon style pinup gals in a wholesome cartoon style. This is not it. But if it were, I plan on naming them Essie and Emma.

Leaning In, Done

I always have such a hard time finalizing drawings for Instagram, because even if it looked great at full size, it changes somewhat when I reduce it for IG deployment, as well as the fact that certain issues crop up at that size. It's almost like taking a step back and seeing what's wrong when I shrink it down. Anyhow, this is the final form, cleaned up alot around his abs, as well as on the arms and elbows.

NeoMontana 2

I'm really trying to get this done as a new fashion sketch, but i am so without any inspo. Which is interesting because when I drew this, I hadn't yet gone out to see my friend Rainer for his birthday, and part of our day involved watching The Devil Wears Prada 2, which was HUGELY inspirational for me! It's weird that a depiction of the fashion industry felt more authentic to me than how the actual fashion industry operates nowadays. I suppose I liked the cleaned-up-for-movies view, versus my jaded view of the Fashion IG posts and such.

Model Drawing Class Studio Session

Second to the last class for the semester with this section, and I had an open studio session with the ever-inspiring Sophie. I really did a lot more styling this time around, and I was inspired by the last outfit, which I thought might be too Liza but kinda worked out.

I also drew instructions on the board when students had questions about how to render things. It was almost a tutorial but I guess it's okay to instruct them, because that's what we're here to do!

Leaning In 3

I visited my friend Nicholas and asked him to pose for the hands, which I wanted to be more natural and authentic, so I retooled the arms and hands. I think this might be my next IG post, as it's full frontal but hidden.

Also Leaning 3

I'm filled with self doubt—do I post an innocuous ass shot in Instagram, knowing that other posters are getting away with both hidden and overt full frontals? Or do I play it safe? And how safe is safe? I feel like a butt shot isn't even safe nowadays.

I do like this technique of taking out the outlines. It feels like an old school poster from the 30s.

NeoMontana

I'm trying to find a new style for my womenswear sketchs, as I feel like if I default to an Antonio variation, it just looks like that I get Gruau already too much on anything I do, and maybe I just don't see it. This feels like me doing my own version of what other artists are doing, except with the precision of this Palette Knife Bonus Opacity, there might be an t=nteresting texture-versus-precision thing happening that I can work with. Her face looks very old though, kinda like Emily Blunt or Erin O'Connor, without makeup, lol. A nice older woman, but perhaps too old in general for my fashion students.

It's called NeoMontana because I thought I was going to draw a Claude Montana inspired design, but I lost interest in the garment when i discovered the brushe effects haha

Open Studio: Sophie

My Friday morning class had an open studio and I tried to teach a new watercolor technique but no one was interested. So I just drew along with them. Funny how looking at these pics I'm less impressed with the work than when i finished them. I have a long way to go to liking my quickly-made natural media drawings for fashion again. Or, you know, at all.
