Meh
After trying hard to work on my newest hair series entry, I'm so frustrated that I feel very meh. Ironically, the 'meh' drawing I did for this entry is much more inspiring, with the fun loose ink strokes.

Yeah, that's terrible
I really wasn't in the mood. I tried to draw a 'normal' guy but I'm not sure what that sketch wants to be. But I was cooking chili all evening so I didn't have the most creative energy although the chili seems to be really yummy).

Instanudity 7
Because even if I don't ant to, I must finish it. If it ever comes together.
Oh, it will, but right now I'm in that stage where I find EVERYTHING is wrong, and have to retool the entire structure of the face... everything was skewing right. Its like I had to perform a jaw reset, I had things jutting out so bad! Ugh, I'm a bad artist...

Oscar Delay
Just a holding post while I'm trapped watching the meh Oscars. Although I really did like Marion Cotillard's Dior by Raf Simons design, so that's what I'm drawing for this entry.

Bleach Pose
A panel in the Bleach manga just looked so cool, so I decided to sketch the pose and see how I could emulate it while trying to make my own variation of it. Ora t least to get the attitude of it.

Instanudity 5
It's always starting work that's a problem. Once there's laid down, where you can see the promise of a finished piece, then it becomes easier to edit. And that's what I keep doing now. Edit, because all I see is stuff isn't right. I don't know how anyone else's process is, but I always struggle through a likeness. First it seems I have them down, then I notice had my work is, and I keep retooling and finding more flaws to fix. It's a process. :)

Some Ducks Don't Fly South for the Winter
Egad, I didn't want to draw anything serious today. I have no creative energy just yet.

Instanudity 4
Might was well keep at it, and early.
I realized belatedly that I had sketched using the wrong tool, and as such it wouldn't match the rest of the series, so I spent a good amount of time basically redrawing the entire face.

FIshing for Fashion
One of the menswear shows that I plan on doing a series of drawings for had a take on their collection that looked to me like high fashion Gorton's Fisherman.

Instanudity 3
My model has been appearing in the IG pics of other artists, so I felt compelled to work on my drawing of him.But my cold was getting the better of me and I started falling asleep while sketching! Not good. Anyhow, this is what I accomplished. I know it will be a while...

NYMD Day 1
Dressing up for Fashion Week is an exercise in both restraint and savvy. You need to know what pieces would be interesting enough to make a statement, but you dont want to look like you tried to hard, lest you be mistaken for some wannabee dressing up just to be photographed at the studios (or wherever it's held this year). Well, the night before I tried in so many possible outfits I knew I had to make a reference to remember them all. In the end, I went with something completely different!

Strangely
Dr.Strange is poised to be a movie with Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular doctor, but I had in mind someone who looked like model Richard Beidul. As I drew sketches of the Doctor yesterday, I thought, what would an updated Dr.Strange look like today? Because that outfit of his hasn't really changed in decades. So this is the start of an attempt at redesigning him.

Comic Book Inks
One of my favorite X-men artists of all time is Paul Smith. He had a short run on teh X-men, only 10 issues, but what started as a cautious dislike for this simplistic newcomer later became an obsessive fanaticism for his animation-born fluidity. To this day I still strive to create poses that look as natural as Paul Smith's figures, and he still inspires me.
