I wasn't sure if I would put clothes on him or not, but his agent suggested I keep it sexy since Asians aren't usually cast that way. And I certainly thought he was sexy. So let's see if we can pump this up.

Paired Duo 5

I was drawing a bit of several different drawings one night because I figured, as long as I have the enthusiasm, I might as well take advantage because otherwise, it would be yet another night of Netflix. Or, even more likely, anime. So I got do do a bit with the leather jacket of this curly haired blond. He's wearing one of my fave outfits from Berluti's FW18 collection. Haider did an amazing job with the outfits in that show.

At least it's starting to come together. We'll see how far I can take it. I'm drawing him like a fashion illustration, which is apropos since he's a fashion model.

The more I draw and paint him, the more it looks like him, and the more mistakes happen, ironically. I suppose because it starts to resemble him more that the parts that don't becoming glaringly evident. Closer, but not close enough. Sigh.

iPad Live!

Today, because I was so drunk from last night, I slept early and got up early. Didn't even need to set the alarm—guess I got my 8 hours sleep despite all the bourbon! So I thought, maybe I go draw at The Center and test out my new iPad for the first time in a live situation. I'm happy to report my drawings pretty much look like I drew them in natural media, which I was slightly disappointed about until I realized, why the hell not?

Pink Blob

I got home last night kinda drunk, after having 4 cocktails with a friend and former colleague from my job at Ann. The cocktails were great (I had 4 different ones and they were all delicious), but the aftermath was weird. I thought I drew something and I arguably recall thinking I'll do another bunny from another view. But this? This is just a blob. Ah well, I guess it counts too.

Blue Bunny

My friend Ernesto wanted a blue bunny tattoo. I'm not quite sure how this should be drawn. Mimobot style, like a Japanese adult toy?

I haven't touched this project since November, and even then I was hard pressed to start it. Hopefully I'll make headway soon.

Paired Duo 4

I tried changing up the face again, and went with a bonier, more defined face but it just ended up looking older, despite a few male models who look like this (ad who are undoubtedly in their early 20s, max). Guess it doesn't translate as well with my drawing skills.

Plus I wasn't really into drawing. I got news late last night about the passing of a dear aunt, the last connection I have to my late mom, and it's beein weighing heavily on me. Life barrels on (and off). Le sigh.

Every time I look at the blond, I'm not sure I want that face in the drawing. Yet it's not a bad face, just not what I want for the tableau. Ugh. I don't even know what I want for the tableau anyhow. Bu I tried changing that face again tonight.

I always intend one thing but the drawing can take on a life of their own, and this face kept evolving as I drew and painted...and talked on the phone, which was probably an unnecessary distraction because I had to change everything I 'doodled' while on the phone. Anyhow, this is the white boy's face currently.

Looking at it now as I'm uploading, that right eye is gonna have to change.

iPhone Fuzzy

Been trying to draw more on Procreate since I got my iPad, yet ironically am doing so on my iPhone even if I've had the app for more than a year or two. Anyhow, I drew this guy while waiting for my dinner to be served at a nearby takeout place, but I refined it and finished it up today in Photoshop.

Weller Hair 4

Turns out that my instincys were prescient: The Lemaire collection for FW18 shown earlier today in Paris had a similar proportion of bots with wide cropped pants underneath a long coat. So I painted the drawing to just focus on that part, my favorite part anyhow (aside from his hair, but I can't wear my hair like that anymore so I'll settle for adapting the boots and pants combo.)

I did a quick croquis then decided o stop at the minimalist rendering. Although I wish I had done it with a more expressive brush!

Pietro

I think he model's name was Pietro Balthazar and the post was from Made In Brazil on Instagram. My IG friend and stylist extraordinaire Judas Vanderwal styled it, but mostly it was because his body was off the chain and the pose was so nice and dynamic yet super casual. Just wanted to record an impression of it.

Davit

Davit is the bartender at Loring Place, where I sometimes like to eat alone at the bar. I didn't have a book or magazine to read this time and had exhausted ll my social media views, so I decided to trot out the Procreate Pocket app and draw him. He seemed to like it.

It's always clearer how to address a drawing when you spend time away from it. It amazes me how much I needed to correct on this face when I opened it up again tonight.

Weller Hair 3

Just a little more on this sketch. I tried to refine the pants and add some back interest to the coat because of the view, but I'm undecided what the coat should look like. I'm only certain I want the pants and bots together peaking out from underneath that coat length.

Whitespace 7

I think he's finished in this unfinished kind of way. I cleaned up a lot of minor details and some major ones, like his legs—wasn't sure if the anatomy was right. It looked kinda wonky
