The Secret Life of Models

My friends over at Project Rungay have a comic strip made by another acquaintance of ours, about the rather cartoon-like characters on the current season of the hit show. I actually had a similar idea for a strip because the characters are so easy to lampoon, and tonight I had an idea that I thought I'd do. I'll be uploading it later when it's complete, but I did three panels tonight. This one here is the test sketches, to see how I'd do the caricatures. I miss doing strips. Hee.

I love that strip on Project Rungay.
Quite witty too.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

ohmygosh there were too many comments on your current strip i decided to write here na lang. haha! looks like your strip is a winner! i loved it too...loved the dress, the pose, the white boots! i dont get to see p.runway though, i miss it... its one of the few shows i watch on tv. should i congratulate you? it feels like you won an award for "comic spoof of the year" or something... haha!

I know - naninibago ako! I think because I love the show so much and I relate to it as well, I can pick up what everyone else sees in the show and channel it into a cartoon.... or at least this time.

But hey, it's just like we used to do back in Fine Arts - you do really fabulous strips yourself. I mean, that's why you and I were such a match in FA -we could do pretty much what the other could, art or humor-wise! Did you check out the link to Project Rungay? Alex does a really fun take - very indie comic style.

i'll try to check i later... though i'm not sure if i'll get it since i havent had a tv set since july. hehe. by choice, actually. it gives us more quality time together. but i do miss shows like antm and p.runway. maybe i'll start doing strips and send them to you! sometimes you have to be with people of the same wavelenght to inspire you to do silly stuff like that....

Or, you do it online! I'm totally connected to people I have never met via online posting. It's community without the face to face aspect. Nothing beats personal interaction, but this is just another way, not a substitute. I say go for it!

This blog has done wonders for my illustration abilities - I can't stop saying how much the practice has improved my skills, even if I thought I was doing pretty well a year ago. Just goes to show you, you never stop learning new things.

And Tom and Lorenzo's Project Rungay blog is hilarious, I think even if you don't watch the show - the commentary comes with photos. Of course watching helps, but I would be interested in seeing if you find it funny regardless.
