Brushworks

Playing some more with Kyle Webster's watercolor brush. It's good for layering fields of color if you want a Stina Persson's effect, but I'm still trying to see if I can find a way to apply it to my digital watercolor fashion illustration style.

Hi George! I absolutely love this piece! My favorite paint to work with is watercolor, especially for fashion illustrations. I think your art is amazing! Please check out my blog where I've posted some of my pieces and let me know if you have any tips or thoughts for me!

Thanks Adaline. I love watercolors too, as you may have guessed with the many watercolor-style (being digital) sketches here.

As for your own work, the only thing I would suggest you try is keeping a longer, more continuous line. Fashion illustration is often about the flow of fabrics, so I'd love to see you try lines that are longer and flowier all around. One compliment I've received over the years is that my line is very 'confident.'Experiment with finding a silhouette in your head, and expressing it immediately and in a swift stroke. See how that works. :)
