Regrouping 3 (Slouchy Cap)

 Regrouping is kind of an awful title for this drawing series, so I shall subtitle it Slouchy Cap, and hope I don't have to post too much about it and just be done with it soon. I retooled the likeness of the model and once I have the outline to my satisfaction I can repaint it in earnest.

Technically this is the 12th, but I'm letting the 3000th post stand on its own. Working some more on the face and garments here, just undecided how to render that not-too-shiny yellow leather jacket.

I can't believe this is my 3000th post on this blog!  And barely anyone sees it! But that's okay, because this isn't for me to show off, or troll for likes, or try to get famous. This blog is for me to draw, and to keep drawing, regardless of who's watching or not. And for those of you who are watching, I thank you and hope you like what you see.

And I can't believe I was late to post it for yesterday!  Arrrgh.

Love Button

So this one is a bit of a stretch but also still a drawing. I'm working on a project for a client and I wanted to create a fake Facebook style "Love" button. So I did. It's still drawing, although some would argue it's UX design...

Re-Newed Beauty

The runways have experienced more diversity again,and there is a crop of beautiful black girls whose beauty is simple and almost pure. Lineisy is the first that comes to mind, but there's a few that I am finding really gorgeous. Anyhow, this was my attempt to illustrate that beauty without actually copying a photo. Can't say I did them justice but I'll try again...

Juuumpsuit 2

I had developed a croquis because my friends wanted me to render a jumpsuit they were working on, but I never heard back from them about it until a few days ago, when they told me the onesie was no longer on the table. So I have this croquis with nothing to put on him... so I just defines his muscles a bit more...

Insta-Reality

I was surprised to meet and draw someone I already followed on Instagram tonight. I kept looking at him and wondering why he looked familiar, and it turned out I had seen his pics for the past few months. And even if I never studied his features before, they were somehow familiar. Whenonline goes offline.

I completely forgot to post last night so I'm doing two entries today. This one was supposed to be more fleshed out than the day before, but after a few quick strokes I rather liked the very immediate quality of the silhouette. So I'm leaving it at that for now.

This should be actually a continuation of another post but I was rushing to make my midnight deadline to have the entry in the timeline, hence teh title. But I adjusted it.

I added feet to a drawing where I removed the feet. Well, and just one leg, to keep it light.

Regrouping

After so much intensive drawing these past several weeks, I'm loathe to pick up a pen/pencil/stylus and draw something new. I'm in the throes of a creative let down, until I recharge. Hopefully soon. In the meantime, just bits and bobs here and there... like the roughest of beginnings for a new digital watercolor fashion illo.

Trever

One of the last ones, I had already drawn Trever more carefully in a digital watercolor, but it was deemed unsuitable for my show because of the technique, so I had to redo him in pencil. Fortunately, he has very distinct features so he makes a cool sketch, even if I don't try to get photographic on him...
