This is a crap Wonder Woman design. But I tried to incorporate all the stars and flag colors, and the result is just...ugh. Red, blue and gold make for a garish outfit no matter how you slice it.
She looks like she’s wearing a silk/lycra bodysuit with molded gold neckpiece/shoulder ornament, belt and cuffs. I actually like that her costume has drape and not skin-tight. Also the sandals give away her roots.
Would it be possible to make her ornaments look like beaten gold and linked with metal mesh so that they will actually look functional and lighter? maybe more drape also (as reference to her lineage) of stretch tulle in red over nude jersey. Perhaps an exaggerated flowing silk belt/scarf tied on the waist and magic lasso becomes her belt fastener. (we actually have a soft belt-like whip blade worn like this in Chinese and hindu martial arts used by women)
Oh, like I said (and showed you earlier when I saw you tonight) this is hardly one of my favorites. I have other directions I am refining before I post them.
In any case, it's hard to include those details you suggested because in the end, it has to be a relatively easy-to-draw outfit that comic book artists (who seldom are competent designers) can render easily. Mesh and drapery may just end up looking like generic comicbook cloth (like everything was made of chiffon when you may want it to flow like a wool crepe!), so the usual conceit of sprayed-on leather and metal gear is pretty much the norm!
And after all is said and done, I really don't like this look because it reminds me of Darna...!
