Boss
Got stuck in a meeting this Monday for two and a half hours, and its relevance to me was really in question... so I drew my boss while I sat wondering what I was doing there.

Pieces
Funny how a line drawing looks okay (well, okay, passable) but the flaws come out when you try to flesh it out and piece the parts all together. I think the features are so long and drawn out on this one, something that didn't seem apparent until I tried to paint it.
Distracting your eyes with 80s colors isn't working either. Okay, at least I tried, haha!

Glowy
My new work schedule has resulted in me doing craptastic drawings - I'm in bed hours earlier (and more tired!) than I ever used to be, and the energy levels show in my work of late. I haven't done a really full-on piece lately, but I suppose I should be thankful I'm doing anything t all and keeping up with the daily drawing. This was Wednesday's piece. Or lack thereof.

Short Spray
My trainer was AWOL this weekend, having friends over from out of town he wanted to spend time with so I went through a more leisurely pace at the gym. I was watching music videos oon the screen between reps and saw one with a black woman who had a short spray of hair like this. Well, this sketch isn't of her, but the hair was inspired by her.

The yellow Cockatooka on the side was one of Joanne's creations, I think. They had such a huge crest on their heads that their tiny wings couldn't steer them in flight, so they ended up always getting blown off course. They would always have an angry expression on their faces when they landed, followed by a, "Where the hell did I end up NOW?!" thought. The Queebee on the right was also constntly confused, because it was half parrot, half potato, and didn't know whether it should fly or root itself to the ground.
Yes, we came up with a ton of these things throughout high school and college. We had a LOT of free time.

Ed'na!
Back when I was a kid, I thought the word "Bimbo" was really funny (it was because of the movie "Student Body," an "Airplane!"-style riff on teen slasher flicks). I thought it meant something akin to "dumb prostitute." So these Bimbo birds were named... and for some reason, the sound they make is "Ed-Na." My friends Senen, Joanne and Stella are probably the only ones who were aware of this stupid fact.
