I kinda didn't want to sketch again, but I rather liked the face I drew and decided to do something stylized and quick.

I'm not sure why I'm so tired again after work. Well, tonight it might be explainable since there was tequila after work, but man I am completely tired and unable to function from all this falling asleep at the computer...

Blue Smile 2

I feel like this style is very retro, and I tried to make it seem contemporary with the added linework and suggestion of possibly more modern clothes, but it didn't really work.

My Facebook friend posted a series of drawings by his fave teachers, so I was inspired to do a 70s getup in keeping with the show's masters of yesteryear.

I was a bit inspired by the old school smiles on Antonio Lopez's pieces from the late 70s and early 80s. It was also very Danilo Franco, whom I now recognize was heavily influenced by Antonio.

Hot Guy

Went to a nude figure session over at The Center earlier today, my first time for this particular session in the newly revamped LGBT Center. Our model was a guy named Guy, who had a great look about him, and fab hair.

I liked my technique from yesterday and the day before, and wanted to explore it. This was an image that popped into my head on my way back from the gym. It's not exactly like I imagined I could paint, but it's a fun exercise regardless.

Blunt Cut 2

A few tweaks here and there, just to make it presentable and Instagrammable. She reminds me of actress Beatrice Dahl from her film, 'Betty Blue.'

Orange

As odd as the choice of orange for skin town is, it's one of my defaults even when I paint with real watercolors.

I like laying out blobs of color for the background of a watercolor sketch, then shaping the face moreso later with details. I think this (and the one I did for yesterday's entry) turned out rather nice!

This is a makeup sketch since I was so drunk when I arrived home late last night, I could not draw anything. But for a quickie, I think it turned out nicely!

Now I'm doing lime wheels again, but looser. I kinda like the top right one the most. I should try more of that level of abstraction.

Did some looser wheels of citrus. Well, actually, one, then I rotated and colorized it to make dupes that are hopefully different enough.

This is a makeup sketch for missing yesterday's posting. I've never really painted fruit in a watercolor style before, but I was confident I could learn (or fake it) well enough. And I need to paint these for a possible freelance gig.

Zachary

Internet sensation Zachary Koval posed at the LL Drawing Salon tonight. I never noticed how much he resembles other stars: Kind of a melange of Benedict Cumberbath, Zachary Quinto and Parker Stevensen. He was lovely to draw.

Seeing Stars

Went to see the Rupert Everett Oscar Wilde play, The Judas Kiss, at BAM tonight. But if I'm really honest, it's the nudity of the pretty-much-perfect Tom Colley on stage that was the highlight of the play. Completely naked and on display for 20 minutes of the second act, the man's body is a wonder, the butt (pun not intended) of 'large cock' jokes that he totally lives up to. On the one hand, he hardly gets any stage time as anything but a target for Everett's Wilde's sexual commentary, but many a career has been built off of being the object of lust on screen and off. Here's hoping we may see more for the stunning Colley in the future.

Stroke That Face

The tools can really affect how I want to draw. A more expressive brush stoke like this Bristle Brush from Kyle Webster made me want to go more stylized with stronger, congident strokes.
